Bidding on a project can be a major expenditure of time and money. The conventional wisdom is you have to spend money to make money, but nothing prevents you from being as efficient in the bidding process as possible. BlueCamroo's Opportunity feature helps you organize bids, manage tasks, track deadlines, collate relevant documents, and automatically generate an accurate sales quote.

SaaS Advantages: Save Time, Save Labor Costs, Lower Risks

By: Karl Mamer 3/24/2011 1:22 PM

Until recently the paradigm has been computing resources are scarce (hence costly): CPU time, storage space, Internet bandwidth. The reality is these old bottlenecks are now cheap and in abundance. Consider Yahoo's free email service gives users unlimited storage space. Hotmail and Gmail similarly offer very large amounts of free storage. What is truly scarce (and costly) is human labor. What is more costly: having senior staff spend time cleaning out their Outlook inboxes to reclaim hard drive space or simply spending $100 once every few years to add a terabyte of additional storage? Software as a Service (SaaS) offers companies, particularly small- and medium-sized enterprises, the ability to leverage the modern abundance of computer resources to lower labor costs.

A Brief History of Software as a Service (SaaS)

By: Karl Mamer 3/14/2011 3:38 PM

Software as a Service is a means of application delivery where your application does not reside on your computer but is hosted on another computer. The application (and even your data) is transferred over a network connection. Since most SaaS arrangements are conducted over an Internet connection, SaaS is increasingly becoming known as "cloud computing". ("Cloud" comes from use of a cloud icon to represent the Internet in network diagrams.)

Verifying Emails for Freemium Content

In our last blog post, we looked at how the Web-to-Lead system could be used to create a wall between the user and a page with "freemium" content. The site visitor gives you some contact information including an email, the site visitor gets entered into BlueCamroo as a lead, and the site visitor then gets forwarded to the download page.

Offer Freemium Content for Extra Leads

Trade content a site visitor finds highly valuable in exchange for something a company finds of value but the site visitor is happy to give away. In other words: information. Leads. If you're in the leads game, a great way to get leads is to offer "freemium" content ("free premium") walled off until the site visitor provides some form of contact information.
