BlueCamroo Release Notes 2.7.0

By: BlueCamroo Team 6/29/2011 11:10 AM

This month’s release sees a bumper crop of useful new features and improvements to existing processes. Completely new are Timers and the Mass Update feature, while changes to enable email-based Support Ticketing from the Cases area adapt an existing feature to a whole new way of working. Group Tasks enables assignment of tasks to workgroups rather than individuals, and amongst User Interface enhancements we have updated Calendar views, an improved Project Stages view, and an all-new Project Timeline. These Release Notes summarize all the changes, but with so much that is new we are also publishing a short Release Guide that will take you through key new features step-bystep, and show you the necessary setup changes. And of course, the context-sensitive Help that you find throughout BlueCamroo has been updated.

Accounts before contacts

One of the conceptual learning curves inherent in BlueCamroo is understanding the distinction between accounts and contacts. BlueCamroo has an import utility that allows you to import leads, accounts, and contacts from a CSV (comma separated values), Excel, or Access file. A lot of times new users export their list of Outlook contacts into a CSV file and then try to import them directly as BlueCamroo contacts. The results are, shall we say, not pretty.

Keep it short

Brevity is the soul of wit, as Bill Shakespeare said. We've all been in meetings that seem to go on forever and without a point. Researchers have found if meetings are conducted without the benefit of chairs (i.e., the ability to sit down), they tend to last half as long. President Ronald Reagan was famous for having all of the day's news (both domestic and international) summarized by his staff into one short page. This also carried over to almost every issue faced by Reagan. He believed (rightly or wrongly) no issue was so complex that it couldn't be summarized in one page.
