Ben stated that a Global Quick Search used to be present on the homepage. Have you considered bringing this back?

It should still be there, on the far right at the top of the center pane. If you're on the home page and you have the expanded calendar or the "what's new" displaying in the center pane, you won't see the Quick Search field.

If for some reason you're still not seeing the field, could you send a screen capture? Thanks!

Hey, can you explain if (and what) search operators can be used in that Search box?

Hi Ben,

You would not need any search operators, as the Quick Search fields will match the string (text) that you are using.

The Home Quick Search will search across the system to find leads, accounts, etc. that contain portions of the string that you are using.  The section specific Quick Search functions will just search within their respective sections.
